Case Study
4.8 MW Integrated Turnkey (ITK) Renewable Energy Solution for Landfill Power
Challenge:
The decommissioned Carrière Miron landfill in Montréal, Quebec, emitted landfill gas, which was a source of odour and pollution. The City of Montreal sought a sustainable way to convert this waste gas into renewable energy for the community.
Solution:
We delivered a complete integrated turnkey solution that transformed the landfill gas into 4.8 MW of electricity for Hydro-Quebec and 5.1 MW of heat for Cirque du Soleil headquarters and TOHU Circus stadium. The project featured three Jenbacher JMS612 gensets within ultra-low noise enclosures.
Outcome:
Our solution addressed the odour and environmental impact issues while providing a reliable source of power. We continue to manage full life cycle maintenance of the plant, which now stands as a model of sustainable energy transformation in Montréal.
